This momentous occasion occurs against the backdrop of heightened speculation regarding a potential political alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Arriving in Bhubaneswar via a special Indian Air Force plane from Telangana, Prime Minister Modi will proceed to Chandikhole in Jajpur district via helicopter, where he will oversee the commencement and dedication of numerous initiatives spanning the oil and gas, railways, road transport, highways, and atomic energy sectors.

Coinciding with the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, this visit holds additional significance amidst growing calls from the BJD for the posthumous conferment of the Bharat Ratna upon Biju Patnaik. Many perceive such an accolade as a potential catalyst for fostering closer ties between Modi and Naveen Patnaik, potentially paving the way for an electoral collaboration ahead of upcoming polls.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Indian Oil Corporation Limited Mono Ethylene Glycol project in Paradip Refinery, marking a significant stride towards reducing India’s import dependency. Additionally, he will inaugurate a 344 km-long product pipeline connecting Paradip in Odisha to Haldia in West Bengal, and a 0.6 MMTPA LPG Import facility at Paradip, aimed at bolstering import infrastructure along the Eastern Coast.

In a concerted effort to enhance regional connectivity and infrastructure, Modi will dedicate various highway projects, including four-laning sections of NH-49 and NH-18, as well as laying the foundation stone for the eight-laning of the Chandikhole-Paradip Section. Railway expansion projects will also be unveiled, including the Bansapani – Daitari – Tomka – Jakhapura Rail Line, geared towards augmenting transportation capabilities and bolstering economic growth.
