Cutting-Edge Technology Paves the Way for Detailed Project Planning
IG Drones, India’s forefront leader in drone technology and analytics, has successfully concluded a comprehensive drone survey of the forthcoming Puri International Airport in Odisha. This survey marks a significant milestone in the Rs 2,203 crore project, which recently saw a call for global bids by the state government. The drone survey, completed in just two months, will play a crucial role in drafting a Detailed Project Report (DPR), leveraging high-tech drone capabilities to offer precise, real-time data for ongoing project monitoring.
IG Drones employed domestically developed drones fitted with advanced sensors for this project. These drones captured high-resolution images, videos, and a wealth of additional data, all processed through IG Drones’ proprietary software, IG One. This software provides detailed technical insights and allows for real-time tracking of project progress, highlighting the transformative potential of drone technology in large-scale infrastructure developments.
Drones are increasingly becoming integral to infrastructure projects due to their efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. They minimize the need for manual labor, reduce project timelines and costs, and are invaluable for tracking construction progress, assessing work quality, and identifying potential issues during construction phases.

The Puri International Airport, officially named Sri Jagannath International Airport, will be constructed near Puri’s Sipasarubali area. The initial phase of the project is set to develop a capacity of 4.6 million passengers per annum (mppa) under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The total project is estimated to cover around 1,165 acres, with an anticipated cost of Rs 2,203 crore.

Recently, the company received a work order for a drone survey at the NDMC Diamond Mining Project in Panna and was contracted for a crucial pipeline inspection at NTPC Darlipali Thermal Power Station in Odisha, a project inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
