Bill Gates Witnesses India’s Drone Revolution
India’s rural landscape is undergoing a technological transformation, thanks to the Namo Drone Didi Scheme—an initiative designed to empower women by training them to operate agricultural drones. This initiative received global attention when Bill Gates, Chairman of the Gates Foundation and former Microsoft CEO, visited IARI, Pusa Campus in New Delhi to interact with three Drone Didi’s trained by Marut Drones.
During his visit, Gates saw first-hand how women from Bihar are leveraging drone technology to increase agricultural efficiency, boost their incomes, and challenge gender norms. The demonstration featured Marut AG365 drones, operated by the trained Drone Didis, showcasing their potential in farming. These drones:

· Optimize resources – Precision spraying minimizes waste, conserving water and chemicals.
· Boost income – Women trained as drone pilots earn a stable livelihood by offering services to farmers.
