He is strong but calm, powerful but innocent. He believes in the philosophy : “Never count drops..droplets make drops, drops make rivulets and rivulets makes ocean. So keep contributing ”. His every judgement as the head of the apex court proved phenomenal. His verdict touched the heart of every Indian in the most discussed 2012 Delhi Gang rape and murder “ The Nirbhaya case”. The man dared to reject the Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon’s appeal to stop his execution despite getting the written threat “irrespective of the protection you may avail, we will eliminate you.”

He is Justice Dipak Misra, the 45th Chief Justice of India. After enrolling himself in the Odisha bar association, he practiced in the Odisha High Court and the Service Tribunal related to Constitutional, Civil, and Criminal, Revenue, Service and Sales Tax matters. During The journy from Odisha High Court to The highest ranking officer of the Indian Judiciary that is Chief Justice of India, Mr Justice Dipak Misra has led several benches, authored many important verdicts and landmark judgements.

Legislation runs in his family genes since generations. As a realistic idealist, he believed the Indian judiciary to be the most robust in the world. To the critics of the Indian judiciary, Dipak Misra’s strong reply was, “to criticise, attack and destroy a system is quite easy” but “what is difficult and challenging is to transform it into a performing one”.

He is a man of deeds, not words. He is an inspiration to thousands of ambitious advocates for his philosophy of ‘Work hard in silence and utmost sincerity.’ Odisha is proud to have such a daring, open hearted individual who has contributed to Indian Judiciary with his various landmark recitations.
