In a fervent escalation of the Biju Janata Dal’s (BJD) campaign for the upcoming elections in Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik spearheaded a series of poll rallies, unleashing a blistering attack on opposition parties, particularly the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), for allegedly resorting to falsehoods to sway voters.

Kicking off his campaign in the industrial hub of Rourkela in Sundargarh district, Patnaik intensified his assault on the opposition, accusing them of peddling lies and insincere gestures towards the people of Odisha. He implored the electorate to repose their trust in the BJD and reject the misleading narratives propagated by rival parties.

Denouncing the BJP-led Central government for purportedly neglecting Odisha’s interests, Patnaik lambasted the opposition for its failure to deliver on past promises and address the state’s developmental needs despite being in power at the national level for a decade.

Emphasizing the BJD’s commitment to welfare initiatives, Patnaik reiterated the party’s pledge to provide free electricity up to 100 units, assuring voters of significant relief from electricity bills starting July this year under his leadership. He underscored this pledge as a hallmark of his governance, appealing for resolute support from the electorate.

Highlighting the array of developmental schemes implemented by the BJD government, including Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, Mission Shakti, Mamata Yojana, Laxmi Bus, and Kalia scheme for farmers, Patnaik sought public feedback on their efficacy, positioning them as instrumental in driving progress and prosperity in the state.

Following the conclusion of his campaign in Rourkela, Patnaik proceeded to address rallies in three Assembly segments under the Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency, rallying support for BJD candidates across the region. Accompanied by V K Pandian, Patnaik’s trusted advisor, the Chief Minister lauded the strides made in Rourkela’s development under his leadership, pledging to elevate the city to new heights of progress.

Patnaik chastised opposition leaders for their fleeting presence in the state during elections, likening them to tourists who vanish once the polls are over. In contrast, he affirmed his steadfast commitment to the people of Odisha, promising unwavering support and engagement beyond electoral cycles.

With each rally, Patnaik reinforced the BJD’s narrative of governance rooted in integrity, accountability, and inclusive growth, positioning the party as the true custodian of Odisha’s interests and aspirations. As the electoral battle intensifies, his impassioned rhetoric seeks to galvanize voters and consolidate support for the BJD’s vision of a prosperous and progressive Odisha.
