Investment Appeal for Semiconductor Industry

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is actively pursuing US investment to establish a semiconductor manufacturing plant in the state. In a recent meeting with Jennifer Larson, the US Consul General in Hyderabad, Majhi outlined Odisha’s strategic advantages and sought American support to bolster various sectors within the state.

Highlighting Odisha’s Advantages

During the discussion, Majhi underscored Odisha’s key advantages, including its trained workforce, availability of land, and access to water and energy resources. He urged Larson to assist in facilitating greater American participation in the upcoming ‘Utkarsh Utkal Conclave,’ previously known as Make in Odisha. This event, scheduled to take place in the next six to seven months, aims to attract significant industrial investment and highlight the state’s potential.

Expanding Collaboration Opportunities

Majhi also expressed a keen interest in forming collaborations with American universities, particularly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning. He proposed establishing partnerships between US institutions and universities in Odisha to foster advancements in higher education and research. This move aims to bridge gaps in technology and innovation, further enhancing the state’s educational and industrial landscape.

The Chief Minister extended an invitation to American companies to explore the vast potential of Odisha.
