Every year, lakhs of aspirants across India compete in the Union Public Service Commission’s Civil Services Examination (UPSC CSE), one of the toughest and most prestigious exams in the country. A former student of SAI International School, Bhubaneswar, Ritika Rath completed her Class X in 2017 and has since been steadily working toward her dream of joining the Indian Administrative Service. With her impressive rank of 48, Ritika is expected to be appointed to the IAS, a position regarded as the backbone of India’s administrative structure.
Her success reflects years of focused preparation, discipline, and a deep commitment to public service—an inspiration for thousands of aspirants in Odisha and beyond.
Understanding the UPSC CSE 2024 Selection Process
This year’s examination process began with the Preliminary Examination held on June 16, 2024, followed by the Mains conducted from September 20 to 29, 2024, and concluded with the Personality Test interviews held between January 7 and April 17, 2025.
A total of 1,009 candidates were recommended for appointments across the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Central Services in Group A and B. These candidates span across various categories:
· General: 335 (including 31 PwBD)
· OBC: 318 (including 10 PwBD)
· SC: 160 (including 3 PwBD)
· EWS: 109 (including 2 PwBD)
· ST: 87 (including 2 PwBD)
The top 10 ranks this year include names like Shakti Dubey (Rank 1), Harshita Goyal, and Dongre Archit Parag, showcasing a diverse and talented group of individuals ready to serve the nation.
