Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate Utkarsh Odisha – 2025, the Odisha government’s flagship business conclave, on January 28 at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar. This two-day event aims to position Odisha as a global industrial hub, focusing on investment, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The conclave is centered around three key themes: Start-Up Odisha, Skilled in Odisha, and Women Entrepreneurship. According to Odisha’s Industries and Skill Development Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, this is not just an investment summit but a transformative initiative to propel Odisha into India’s next industrial revolution.
Objectives of Utkarsh Odisha
The event aims to attract major industrial investments while fostering an entrepreneurial and skill-based ecosystem. Key focus areas include:
· Boosting start-ups and innovation to enhance Odisha’s business landscape.
· Showcasing Odisha’s skilled workforce and increasing employment opportunities.
· Encouraging women entrepreneurs to promote inclusive economic development.
· Expanding sectors like renewable energy, green fuels, specialty metals, and technical textiles.
Global Participation and Industry Leaders
With over 7,500 industry delegates, including more than 100 international representatives from 20 countries, the conclave has garnered significant global attention. Nations such as Singapore, Australia, and Malaysia will lead discussions, while delegations from Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan, Venezuela, the UK, the US, and Nepal will take part in strategic collaborations.
Eminent industrialists, including Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Anil Agarwal, Sajjan Jindal, and Karan Adani, will participate in discussions alongside Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram, and Ashwini Vaishnaw. Their involvement underscores the event’s importance in shaping Odisha’s economic future.
Security Arrangements for PM Modi’s Visit
With PM Modi’s arrival, extensive security preparations have been put in place in Bhubaneswar. A full-scale rehearsal of the Prime Minister’s motorcade was conducted, adhering to the Blue Book—a security protocol for VVIP visits. The Special Protection Group (SPG) is supervising all arrangements to ensure a smooth and secure visit.
Security measures include:
· Deployment of 60 police platoons and over 400 officers on duty.
· Enhanced traffic management and strict route security.
PM Modi’s Itinerary for Utkarsh Odisha
PM Modi’s visit to Bhubaneswar is scheduled for just over two hours, with the following itinerary:
Ø 10:35 AM: Arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport via a special Air Force aircraft.
Ø 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Attending the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave at Janata Maidan.
Ø 12:35 PM: Departure from Bhubaneswar Airport.
Ø 12:55 PM: Expected return to Delhi.
