In a bid to attract global investments and strengthen international partnerships, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will host an Ambassadors’ Meet in New Delhi this Thursday. The event is part of the state’s preparations for its flagship business summit, Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, scheduled for January 28-29, 2025, in Bhubaneswar.
The Make in Odisha Conclave has a rich history of showcasing Odisha’s industrial potential and promoting the state as a major investment destination in India. First launched in 2016, the event has steadily grown into a prominent industrial platform, attracting domestic and international businesses, policymakers, and diplomats. Over the years, the conclave has fostered significant partnerships and cemented Odisha’s position as a key player in India’s industrial growth.
International Outreach: The Ambassadors’ Meet
The upcoming Ambassadors’ Meet, chaired by CM Majhi, will be attended by a high-level delegation comprising ambassadors, high commissioners, consul generals, trade commissioners, and senior diplomats from around the globe. The primary objective of the meeting is to present Odisha’s vibrant industrial ecosystem and showcase emerging investment opportunities to a global audience.
Industries Secretary Hemant Sharma highlighted the importance of the meet, stating that it aims to emphasize Odisha’s industrial potential and the state’s policies that support ease of doing business. “This engagement is a crucial platform to extend Odisha’s message of growth, partnership, and opportunity to both global and domestic investors,” Sharma said.
The event will also include government-to-business (G2B) meetings, where industry leaders from various sectors will meet with government officials, exploring investment opportunities in Odisha. This focused interaction is expected to pave the way for new business ventures and strengthen Odisha’s ties with international markets.
Focus on Industrial Growth and Opportunities
During the meet, the Odisha government will highlight its robust industrial infrastructure and sectors with high growth potential, such as IT & ITeS, textiles, food processing, chemicals, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and electronics manufacturing. CM Majhi will personally invite global stakeholders to participate in the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025, reinforcing the state’s commitment to industrial development and economic expansion.
One of the key themes of the event will be the ease of doing business in Odisha. The state government has launched several initiatives to create an investor-friendly environment, ensuring that businesses can thrive in a supportive ecosystem. These efforts have earned Odisha a reputation as a business-friendly destination, attracting investments from both domestic and international enterprises.
Roadshow and Interactive Session
In addition to the Ambassadors’ Meet, the Odisha government will host a roadshow for business leaders and industrialists from the Delhi NCR region. This roadshow will highlight the state’s industrial ecosystem, infrastructure, and opportunities for collaboration across various sectors.
An interactive session with CM Majhi will further provide business leaders with insights into Odisha’s growth potential. This engagement is designed to help industries explore how Odisha can serve as a key destination for their expansion plans.
Prominent Attendees and Political Support
Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram, and Ashwini Vaishnaw are also slated to attend these important events. Their presence underscores the central government’s support for Odisha’s industrial initiatives and reflects the strategic importance of the Make in Odisha Conclave.
Chief Minister Majhi will be accompanied by senior state officials, including Minister for Industries and Skill Development Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, and Principal Secretary Hemant Sharma. Together, they aim to foster stronger international partnerships and secure significant investments that will contribute to the state’s industrial resurgence.
The Path Forward: Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025
The Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 is expected to be the largest industrial gathering in the state’s history, building on the successes of previous editions. The event will bring together business leaders, industry experts, policymakers, and diplomats from around the world, offering a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and investment.
As Odisha continues to position itself as a major hub for industrial activity, the Ambassadors’ Meet and the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025 will play pivotal roles in shaping the state’s future as a leading investment destination in India.
