Odisha Board Strengthens Security for Class X Matric Exams 2025 to Curb Paper Leaks

Ensuring Fair and Secure Examinations

With the Class X Matriculation Examination 2025 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha set to commence on February 21 and conclude on March 6, stringent security protocols have been introduced to maintain the integrity of the examination process. This year, a total of 5,10,778 students from across the state will appear for the exams. To accommodate them, 3,133 examination centres have been established across 30 districts, with 314 nodal centres overseeing operations.

To prevent question paper leaks and malpractice, the board has enhanced security measures, including an expanded CCTV surveillance network, digital locking systems for transportation, and advanced security features embedded in the question papers. These steps aim to ensure a seamless and transparent examination process for all students.

CCTV Surveillance and Live Streaming Expansion

To enhance monitoring, all exam centres will be under CCTV surveillance. Following the success of last year’s initiative, where live streaming was conducted from 200 centres, this year, the Board has expanded live streaming coverage to 600 centres. This expansion ensures real-time oversight and rapid response in case of any irregularities.

Robust Security Features to Prevent Leaks

To mitigate the risk of question paper leaks, the BSE has incorporated multiple security layers, including:

·       QR Codes, Watermarks, and Serial Numbers: Each question paper is embedded with these unique identifiers to facilitate tracking and swift identification in case of unauthorized leaks.

·       Digital Locking System: A cutting-edge digital lock mechanism, featuring GPS tracking and password-protected access, has been implemented to secure question papers during transportation. The locks can only be opened via secure passwords, centrally from the BSE office or through specialized chips at designated centres. Any tampering attempts will immediately trigger alerts in the BSE control room.

·       Real-Time Monitoring and Security Squads: Special surveillance squads will be deployed across examination centres to oversee security measures and ensure the smooth conduct of exams.

Exam Timings and Streamlined Conduct

The exams will take place daily from 9:00 am to 11:30 am in a single sitting. To maintain uniformity, a single question paper will be provided for both regular and ex-regular students. Admit cards can be accessed through both online and offline modes to facilitate hassle-free distribution to students.

A Secure and Transparent Examination System

With these comprehensive security measures in place, the Odisha Board is taking significant strides to uphold the credibility and fairness of the Class X Matric Examination 2025. By integrating advanced tracking, digital locks, and live surveillance, the BSE is demonstrating its commitment to ensuring a secure, transparent, and malpractice-free examination process. These efforts are crucial in fostering a trustworthy academic environment for students, paving the way for future reforms in examination security across the country.
