Survey Commences for Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project: A Leap Towards Futuristic Connectivity

The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation has initiated the crucial survey work for the transformative Bhubaneswar Metro Railway project.

·       The ambitious 26-kilometer metro railway line, envisaged to seamlessly connect Bhubaneswar Airport to Trishulia in Cuttack.

·       With an estimated cost pegged at Rs 8,000 crore, the project symbolizes a paradigm shift towards modern and efficient urban transportation infrastructure.

In a momentous stride towards enhancing urban connectivity and addressing the burgeoning transportation demands of Bhubaneswar, the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation has initiated the crucial survey work for the transformative Bhubaneswar Metro Railway project. Embarking on its journey from Vani Vihar to Sishu Bhawan Square, this survey heralds the dawn of a new era in urban transit infrastructure for the capital city.

In a concerted effort encompassing diverse stakeholders, a specialized team comprising members from the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited, and various other pertinent entities, including TPCODL, GAIL, BSNL, WATCO, and Commissionerate Traffic Police, undertook a comprehensive survey along the proposed route. Despite grappling with the challenges posed by an unforgiving heatwave, the team exhibited unwavering commitment and meticulous attention to detail as they meticulously assessed the existing infrastructure, encompassing electricity poles, water pipes, telephone lines, and gas pipelines, within the precincts of the envisaged metro station areas.

The ambitious 26-kilometer metro railway line, envisaged to seamlessly connect Bhubaneswar Airport to Trishulia in Cuttack, stands as a testament to visionary urban planning and transformative development. With an estimated cost pegged at Rs 8,000 crore, the project envisages elevated tracks supported by 450 sturdy pillars, symbolizing a paradigm shift towards modern and efficient urban transportation infrastructure. In its inaugural phase, the project aims to establish five strategically positioned stations at Master Canteen, Vani Vihar, Jaydev Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Patia, and Nandankanan.
