Among them, notable vocalist and scholar Sangita Gosain will be honored with the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for her remarkable contributions to Odissi music in 2023.

In the realm of Odissi dance, Snehaprava Samantaray, a former lecturer of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, and Debasish Pattnaik have been selected for the Akademi awards in recognition of their significant achievements in the field for the year 2023. Additionally, Alok Bishoyi, a talented folk dancer and musician, will receive the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar-2023, highlighting his promise as a rising young artist.

For their exceptional dedication and mastery in their respective fields, Odissi dance guru Niranjan Rout and Arupa Gayatri Panda have been chosen as recipients of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the year 2022, respectively.

Each award carries not only a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh but also prestigious tokens of recognition in the form of ‘tamrapatra’ and ‘angavastram’. These accolades will be presented to the awardees in a special investiture ceremony presided over by the President of India.
